The NFL has plenty elite athletes who would be fun to watch trying to transfer their talents to compete in other sports.
Here are our favorite 10.

— J.J. Watt, DE, Texans: Shot put and discus
Watt was underrated as a tight end and defensive end coming out of high school in Pewaukee, Wisc., but he won a state championship as a thrower in track and field. Nine years ago, he chucked a shot put 18.28 meters. Knowing how much he worked to dominate in the NFL, one shouldn’t doubt he could have become world-class in anything.
— Cam Newton, QB, Panthers: Javelin
You’ve seen him throw those laser darts all over the field, right? We’re pretty sure he can throw a sharp object downfield with pinpoint accuracy. Bonus: Pulling out the Superman on the podium.
— Antonio Brown, WR, Steelers: 110-meter hurdles
Brown would have to keep his foot in check and not get kicked out for kicking, but then again, an actual hurdle is less inanimate than a helpless punter. His quickness and leaping ability would help him channel his inner Edwin Moses.
— Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings: 100-meter dash
Peterson picked football, but based on his awesome prep sprinting career in Texas, many believe he would have had a future as an Olympian had he gone a different athletic route. He already floors us with the way he runs through and flies past big, strong defenders.

— Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Giants: Decathlon
We can see Beckham trying to clear the bar while also trying to make another one of his patented, gravity-defying one-handed catches. Sprinting, long jumping, relay racing and even soccer all are part of his athletic pedigree. He would be worth watching in any event.
— Russell Wilson, QB, Seahawks: Fencing
Wilson would probably be written off as too short to be an excellent fencer before using his squattiness and athleticism to his advantage. Whether he’s wielding a foil, epee or sabre, we can see his swordplay being strong and elusive. Really, he just seems like a perfect fit for the uniform.
— James Harrison, LB, Steelers: Weightlifting
Clean and jerk this, NFL. Don’t mess with a man who can do this to 500 pounds at age 37.
— Rob Gronkowski, TE, Patriots: Beach volleyball

We know he’s pretty good at spiking footballs. We know he’s pretty big and tall at 6-6, 265 pounds. We also know he loves hanging out on the beach with women in bikinis. Yep, that should do it.
— Eli Manning, QB, Giants: Equestrian
Peyton Manning did ride off into the proverbial sunset with the Broncos on what we presume was a pretty tame horse. But who wouldn’t want to see Eli trade his helmet for a riding cap and do something called dressage?
— Tom Brady, QB, Patriots: “Rings”

Do we really know if Brady could be a gymnast? Who cares? We know he inspired Aly Raisman, and he’s already used to being a decorated world champion. Guess we’ll settle for a little Gisele in Rio, instead.
