What is the plot of Winning Time?
“Winning Time” is based on the 2014 book by Jeff Pearlman titled Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s.
The book chronicles the Lakers dynasty, beginning with drafting Magic Johnson with the No.1 overall pick in the 1979 NBA Draft. That kick-started a dominant run alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and larger-than-life head coach Pat Riley, which saw them win five championships in the ’80s.
