“Valorant” is a first-person, 5-on-5 shooter game intended to garner crossover success between the esports community and eventually casual players in the vein of rival company Valve’s hit game “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.”

Because a limited pool of users was able to access the beta Tuesday, needing codes to get in, curious fans swarmed Twitch to get a glimpse at the offering. As of publish time, 1.7 million people were watching live video of the game on the platform, equal to the all-time record “Fortnite” set last October.

Riot Games says a full version of “Valorant” will be available to the masses sometime this summer, though it has not yet provided a specific release date.

The beta is available in Canada, the United States, Russia, Turkey and Europe for the select few lucky enough to obtain a code.
