Here’s a crucial aspect of the current meta: abusing broken champions. Patch 9.14 changed a bunch of numbers and stats of champions which completely changed the meta. Items that stack, like Zeke’s Herald and Locket of the Iron Solari are considered the most useful, but items that Disarm or Shrink are just as popular. Items, and the champions they are put on, decide the game just as much as the synergies you have with each class or origin.

Though these champions should be paired with others for synergy, getting these item combos will put you at a major advantage. They won’t win you the game, but they help.

Teamfight Tactics Best Champions and Item Combos

Volibear + Rapid Firecannon- The most overpowered bear in the game is everywhere. He doesn’t work on compositions that don’t have a front line or Glacial champion, but if he’s allowed to slap from afar with increased attack speed, then he’s almost impossible to beat. Losing to a Volibear after you’ve killed off the rest of his squad is the most infuriating thing. You can counter his damage with a Cursed Blade, Sword Breaker or crowd control, but without that you’re bear meat.

Tristana/Draven + Cursed Blade- The two fastest attacking range DPS champions in the game are powerful mini turrets. While the rest of your champions are running around, Trist or a two-star Draven can just stand in the back and attack away. Added a Sword Breaker or Rapid Firecannon can really increase their damage in the mid to late game. A Draven with three items is a win condition in it’s own right.

Kennen/Morgana + Almost Anything- The best crowd control mages are a must for compositions that want to win. Kennen has the largest AoE instant stun in the game, with Morgana’s two second chains following right behind.

Literally Anything + Locket of the Iron Solari- Just build Locket and dump them on a champion that uses spell power.
