Teamfight Tactics Item Guide
Items in Teamfight Tactics drop randomly from minion waves throughout the game. In the first three waves, you’ll have seven chances to have an item drop. If three or four happen to pop out of those minions, you’re in really good shape. If you don’t get any Chain Vests or BF Swords in the early game, you can try for an item that you want in the champion carousel. Picking a low-tier champion to get a better item can be a solid strategy, especially because items are so important.
A cruddy Mordekaiser with a Frozen Heart can help keep your stronger squishies from dying to an angry assassin. Getting a team bonus can be super important to victory, so item squires are a common sight. You might not get an item that’s worth building at the beginning of the game, so don’t build items for the sake of it. Nobody wants to be stuck with a Frozen Mallet and no other Glacial champions to synergize with.
Knowing how to build your team is only half the game; you have to understand how items in the game work Using Scarra’s item “cheat sheet,” you can figure out which items you can build with what the RNG gods have given you.
Teamfight Tactics Item Tier List
Here are the items that stand above the rest:
Phantom Dancer- Having a squishy that can’t be burst down by an assassin can win you the early game. Dumping this item on a Vayne, Lucian or Draven is almost never a bad idea. Bloodthirster- Who doesn’t like healing? Keep that Draven, Kayle or attack speed Kassadin alive with some trusty Lifesteal, gaining health with every auto attack. Zephyr- Immediately gain an edge on the competition by taking one enemy champion out of the game for five seconds. Titanic Hydra- Cho’Gath, Darius and Garen have lots of health and this item turns that into damage. Spear of Shojin- Deal damage with your mana, there’s no downside!Force of Nature- What some consider to be the best item in the game. Gives you a free champion that doesn’t count for the unit cap. Getting two spatulas outside of the carousel can be hard, but the reward is worth the risk.
