As part of the current $2 trillion relief package, electronic checks are supposed to give the economy a much-needed boost. Businesses and employees have taken a big hit due to the spread of the coronavirus. It’s much needed, if temporary, respite for many.

Individual taxpayers, who earn up to $75,000, will receive a $1,200 check. Married couples, who have filed together and gain less than $150,000, will be granted a $2,400 check. If the IRS has your banking information on file, a direct deposit will automatically be distributed to your account.

Last month, Steven Mnuchin, the secretary of the Treasury Department, mentioned his “number one objective is now delivering to the American workers and American companies the needed money that will put this economy in a position where it gets through the next eight to 10 weeks.”

While the economy waits to restart, the internet has come up with the perfect memes to either cheer you up or remind you what’s missing in your bank account.
