The eighth main game in the long-running horror series returns with a new story and fresh monsters to kill—and we’re not just talking about zombies this time around.
Announced in September 2020, Resident Evil Village again stars Ethan Winters. Fans may remember Ethan as the protagonist in 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. In that game, he receives a mysterious email from his wife, Mia, and makes his way to Louisiana to search for her; his journey leads him to the exceedingly creepy Baker family mansion, from where he ultimately has to rescue his wife.
Just like that game, Resident Evil Village will let players experience this adventure through the eyes of Ethan as a new tragedy unfolds that will take him to a mysterious—you guessed it—village.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The official Resident Evil accounts have confirmed that the new showcase will bring fans “new Resident Evil Village footage, including a new trailer, first-ever gameplay, and lots more Resident Evil news!”
There have only been two trailers of Resident Evil Village so far. The first was revealed during the PS5 reveal livestream back in June 2020, and the other was during last year’s Tokyo Game Show in December.
However, this showcase is sure to feature the most information about Resident Evil Village to date. We may even get a release date, or at least a window, so fans of the horror franchise will definitely want to check this out.
Resident Evil Village is set to release in 2021 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
