The first new Gigantamax form we see is Pikachu. Our favorite yellow mouse not just grows in size, it becomes more round similar to its first appearance in Pokémon Red and Blue.
It’s tail glows a bright yellow and has the move G-Max Volt Crash, which paralyzes every Pokémon on your opponent’s side of the field. The trailer even shows Mudsdale, a Ground-type Pokémon, being paralyzed by this move.
Trainers will be able to receive a Gigantamax Pikachu if they have a save file of Let’s Go Pikachu on their Nintendo Switch.
Eevee gets a Gigantamax form, which sees its neck fluffs become larger and its ears longer. It’s new move is G-Max Cuddle, which infatuates opposite gendered Pokémon on the field.
Similar to Gigantamax Pikachu, this special Eevee can be obtained when play records of Let’s Go Eevee is found on the Switch.
We then get Gigantamax Charizard, whose wings become engulfed in flames. It’s new move is G-Max Wildfire, which damages all non-Fire Pokémon for four turns after use.
And finally, we have Gigantamax Butterfree who grows in size, but it’s wings become a light blue. It’s new move is G-Max Befuddle, which causes paralysis, poison or sleep to each opposing Pokémon.
The Pokémon Company also revealed a new early-purchase bonus in the latest Sword and Shield trailer. From November 15 to January 13, 2020 players who purchase and play Sword or Shield will receive a special Meowth.
This Meowth can Gigantamax, which transforms the cat Pokémon into a long cat. It’s signature move is G-Max Gold Rush, which confuses all opposing Pokémon and gives extra money after battle. This is perfect for early-game adventures.
