The Pokémon Company announced that a special 24-hour livestream will take place starting Friday, October 4 at 9 a.m. EDT on the company’s various social media channels. This livestream will have a camera fixed on a new area of the Galar region, the Glimwood Tangle.

Sonia, assistant and granddaughter of Professor Magnolia, will lead the expedition to explore this area and the Pokémon that inhabit it.

Here’s a message from Sonia about the upcoming research adventure.

“My name’s Sonia, and I’m a Pokémon researcher. Here in Galar, I’m always helping out with research for my gran—Professor Magnolia, that is!

“I’m sending this message because I could really use your help with some research I’m doing.

“Next week, a camera will be set up in a strange forest here in Galar known as Glimwood Tangle, and the camera will begin broadcasting live footage.

“The broadcast will last for 24 hours! If you could take a gander when you have time, that’d be just great. Thanks in advance!”

From the artwork of the Galar region in the Pokémon Sword and Shield games, The Glimwood Tangle can be found in the southwest area. It’s a thick forest with bioluminescent mushrooms everywhere.

What Pokémon fans can expect during this stream is unclear, but there is likely to be a new Pokémon reveal or two during the 24-hour broadcast. If we had to guess, the Glimwood Tangle is likely home to many Grass, Bug and Fairy-type Pokémon.

Currently, the only Pokémon with those typings are Gossifleur, Eldegoss and Alcremie. There’s also Impidimp, which was found in the Sword and Shield demo at E3. The Dark and Fairy-type Pokémon has yet to receive a “proper” reveal with its abilities and other information, so this could finally be the time The Pokémon Company does so.

The Pokémon Company is also teasing a “surprise” during this stream, so perhaps we’ll meet a new Gym Leader or witness the reveal of a Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. The potential for new information is huge and we’ll be sure to keep you updated with as much Sword and Shield information as possible on the day of the stream.

Pokémon Sword and Shield releases November 15 for Nintendo Switch.
