Niantic’s Sustainability Campaign partners with non-profits to host cleanup events around the world. To promote and bring awareness to Niantic’s efforts, Pokémon Go will have its own event to celebrate the initiative. This year, Pokémon Go will introduce a new Pokémon and Shiny form to the game. Also, more bonuses and updates to the mobile game will be arriving during the Sustainability Week event.
POKEMON GO SUSTAINABILITY EVENT START TIME
The Pokémon Go Sustainability Week event runs from Tuesday, April 20, at 10 a.m. to Sunday, April 25, at 8 p.m. local time.
POKEMON GO SUSTAINABILITY EVENT FIELD RESEARCH
During the Sustainability Week event, trainers can enjoy event-exclusive Field and Timed Research.
Field Research, which can be obtained by spinning PokeStops, will have rewards that consist of encounters with Cottonee, Chespin, Binacle and more.

BINACLE AND SHINY TRUBBISH
Binacle, the Rock and Water-type Pokémon from the Kalos region, will appear in Pokémon Go for the first time during this event.
Trainers will be able to catch this Pokémon in the wild, through Raids and in Field Research.
Trubbish, the Poison-type Pokémon from the Unova region, will see its Shiny form make its Pokémon Go debut this week. Normal Trubbish has a green coloring, but its Shiny form will change it to a more bluish coloration.
POKEMON GO SUSTAINABILITY EVENT RAID UPDATE
The Pokémon appearing in Raids will update when the Sustainability Week event begins. Trainers will see different Pokémon, including the new Binacle in these battles. While the entire Raid list isn’t yet known, here are the Pokémon we know will appear in Raids during the event:

The following in-game bonuses will be active when the event begins:
Trainers will be able to find Pokémon like Grimer, Drilbur, Trubbish, Ferroseed and others in the wild more often. The following Pokémon will be hatching from 5 km Eggs: Diglett, Tangela, Goldeen, Budew, Cherubi, Finneon, and Drilbur. A free Sustainability Week T-shirt avatar item will be available in the shop.
