Pokémon Go Battle League Season 6 will have many new changes to the format including more ranks and more ways to earn rewards by battling other trainers from around the world.

The official Niantic blog has gone into detail as to what trainers can expect including the schedule of cup formats and what’s changed.

POKEMON GO BATTLE LEAGUE SEASON 6 SCHEDULE

Season 6 of the Pokémon Go Battle League begins Monday, November 30 at 4 p.m. EDT.

When the new season begins, the end-of-season rewards for Season 5 will be rewarded to trainers based on their rank. You can read more about those rewards, here.

However, as the Pokémon Go Battle League will now revolve around the concept of “seasons” in the mobile game, this schedule released by Niantic is tentative and only goes up to the halfway point of the season.

The Great League will run from Monday, November 30, at 4 p. m. to Monday, December 14, at 4 p. m. EST. The Ultra League and its Premier Cup will run from Monday, December 14, at 4 p. m. to Monday, December 28, at 4 p. m. EST. The Master League, its Premier Cup, Master League Classic, and Holiday Cup will run from Monday, December 28, at 4 p. m. to Monday, January 4, 2021, at 4 p. m. EST. Only Pokémon that haven’t been powered up with Candy XL are allowed in the Master League Classic. The Holiday Cup will run from Monday, December 28, at 4 p. m. to Monday, January 4, 2021, at 4 p. m. EST. The CP limit for this cup will be 1,500, and only Normal, Grass, Electric, Ice, Flying, and Ghost types will be allowed. All three leagues and the Ultra League Premier Cup will run from Monday, January 4, 2021, at 4 p. m. to Monday, January 11, 2021, at 4 p. m. EST.

POKEMON GO BATTLE LEAGUE SEASON 6 REWARDS

The new season is also bringing a new rewards structure. The rewards for each Go Battle League Season will be tied to the current overarching “season” in Pokémon Go.

Here’s the current rank rewards for Pokémon Go Battle League Season 6:

The Pikachu Libre avatar items will be a reward for Trainers who reach rank 10. Trainers who reach Legend rank will earn avatar items and a pose inspired by N, from Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version. Players who reach rank 20 can encounter Pokémon from N’s seasonal teams in Black and White version. Pokémon that you’ll be guaranteed to encounter at each rank will now include the following Pokémon. Various Ranks: You’ll be guaranteed to encounter some first partner Pokémon originally discovered in various regions as you progress through the ranks. Rank 16: You’ll be guaranteed to encounter Chespin. You will also have a chance of encountering it on the rewards tracks for higher ranksRank 17: You’ll be guaranteed to encounter Fennekin. You’ll also have a chance of encountering it on the rewards tracks for higher ranksRank 18: You’ll be guaranteed to encounter Froakie. You’ll also have a chance of encountering it on the rewards tracks for higher ranksRank 20: You’ll be guaranteed to encounter a surprise Pokémon during the second half of Season 6. You’ll have a chance of encountering it on the rewards tracks for higher ranksLegend Rank: You’ll be guaranteed to encounter a Pikachu Libre. This will be the only time you’ll be able to encounter a Pikachu Libre during the season.

The rank-reward system has been updated. The following ranks will be unique in terms of how players progress through them and the rewards granted on the rewards tracks. Once you reach these ranks, you need to only complete one set of battles to progress to the next rank.

Rank 5: The rewards will be mystery items.

Rank 10: The rewards will be Stardust.

Rank 15: The rewards will be Rare Candies.

Rank 19: The rewards will be Pokémon encounters.

POKEMON GO BATTLE LEAGUE SEASON 6 CHANGES

The biggest change to the Pokémon Go Battle League is its ranking system. The number of ranks has been increased from 10 to 24 allowing for more chances to earn rewards.

Trainers will progress through ranks 1 to 20 by participating in battles and securing wins.

The top four ranks in the Go Battle League will be reserved for the best of the best after reaching a certain rating.

Ace: 2,000Veteran: 2,500Expert: 2,750Legend: 3,000
