WHEN CAN YOU DOWNLOAD PAPER MARIO: THE ORIGAMI KING?

Paper Mario: The Origami King will be released Friday, July 17, but timing can be difficult with the Nintendo eShop.

According to the official Nintendo support page, certain games will be available for playing beginning at 12 a.m. ET on the game’s release date. It also states that some third-party titles won’t be available until 3 a.m. ET on their release dates.

Luckily, Paper Mario: The Origami King is a first-party title so it should be available at midnight on the East Coast. However, as many gamers know, it’s unlikely that it will be available to download at exactly 12 a.m. ET, and will be released after some time has passed.

To download Paper Mario: The Origami King, players must enter the Nintendo eShop with a strong internet connection. Usually new titles are featured on the front page, but buyers can manually search for the title as well.

The game is available to pre-purchase and pre-load now, to get the Nintendo Switch ready for the specified release time. The Paper Mario: The Origami King download size is approximately 6.4 GB. This is around the same size of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which came in around 6.8 GB.

Currently, Paper Mario: The Origami King is holding steady with an 81 average rating on the review aggregating site Metacritic. Just about every reviewer has lauded the game’s characters, story and world, The negatives of the game seem to revolve around the battling. Some reviewers have called it repetitive, while others feel the RPG elements that made the first few Paper Mario games so beloved are not as strong.
