What time does Outriders release?
As explained in an official pre-launch Reddit thread, the precise time Outriders releases varies slightly depending on your platform. The full list of expected release times is below.
Console (Xbox and PlayStation): April 1 at 12 a. m. EDTPC and Stadia: April 1 at 12 p. m. EDT
This means those playing on PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S will have a 12-hour head start with the finished game before those on other platforms. Square Enix suggests this rolling launch time ensures the maximum amount of support staff will be available to answer questions once everything is live.
It’s also worth noting that the Xbox Game Pass launch time isn’t listed here, but we imagine it will be at the above-listed console launch time or shortly thereafter. After all, Outriders is not playable on the PC version of Game Pass.
What about Outriders preloads?
For those who’ve pre-ordered the game, there are also preloads available that allow you to download the full game in advance of its above-listed release time. Here’s what we know so far.
Xbox: Preloads went live last week. This should also be true for the Game Pass version as well. PlayStation: Preloads should be live around 48 hours before the above-listed release time. In other words, preloads should be live by the time you read this article. PC: The status of Steam preloads is not yet known at the time of publication. We’ll do our best to update these details as they become available. EGS does not support preloads yet.
You’ll need about 70GB of drive space to complete the preload, so keep that in mind as you follow these steps.
PlayStation: Scroll over to your game Library and select Outriders. Press the “download” button. If that doesn’t work, try downloading it from the Outriders product page on the PlayStation Store. Xbox: In My games & apps, select Outriders from the Games menu. If that doesn’t work, try visiting the Outriders product page on the Microsoft Store.
What editions of Outriders exist?
Compared to other triple-A releases, the Outriders edition situation is fairly simple. There are only two different versions of Outriders that players will be able to get at launch.
Day One Edition ($59): Includes the Hell’s Rangers Content Pack that has Hell’s Rangers male and female gear sets, 11 Hell’s Rangers guns, and Hell’s Rangers Truck Mods and Decals. Digital Standard Edition ($59): This also includes the Hell’s Rangers Content Pack if you pre-order the game, so there really isn’t that much of a difference between the various editions.
Outriders is available April 1 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
