What happened at the end of October Faction on Netflix?
The final episode of October Faction, also titled “The October Faction,” followed on from the events of the last episode, with Presidio using the Gate Night carnival to take control of the entire town of Barrington-on-Hudson, which they aimed to remove off the face of the Earth using a biotoxin.
Presidio also used the Allen home as a station to find out which townspeople have been possessed by warlocks. Geoff (Gabriel Darku) and Viv (Aurora Burghart) wanted to stop them, but they have been drugged and need to use their blood magic to break through the effects of the narcotics.
As such, Philip (Praneet Akilla) and the rest of the Barrington townspeople created a distraction while Geoff and Viv used their magic to reach Alice (Maxim Roy), who along with Deloris (Tamara Taylor) is being transported away. The pair had been on opposite sides across the rest of October Faction, but when they both realise the true evil of Presidio they teamed up. Alice used the magic Geoff and Viv have unlocked within her to break down the truck and worked with Deloris to kill all the guards. Deloris then leaves to help the kids at the house and Alice’s kills Presidio’s boss Edith (Megan Follows).
Aside from the plot that sees Presidio taking over Barrington, the finale of October Faction sets up a number of plot points sure to be picked up in Season 2 of the Netflix show. One major one is the death of Fred Allen (J.C. MacKenzie), killed by Edith in the penultimate episode.
In Episode 10, he is in purgatory with Omari (Andrew Moodie), the husband of Alice, who revealed to him that there is a “window” that will allow him to return to the mortal realm. This suggests he will be back in Season 2, though Omari reveals it could be some time before he does come back to Deloris, Geoff and Viv.
With Maggie now at the top of Presidio, things are likely to change within the organisation. At the end of the show, Maggie visits her husband Samuel (Stephen McHattie) in his Presidio cell, where Edith was keeping him hostage to learn the secrets of his experiments. She also visits Dante (Calvin Desautels), the prisoner Samuel was using as a conduit to try and bring his son Seth (Donald MacLean Jr.) back to life.
If this is hinting that she will try to bring Seth back properly, this could be huge trouble for the residents of Barrington in Season 2. Seth was killed by the vampire Moshe (Dayo Ade) after he learned that Seth was killing people for fun, so if he fully returns to life this could be a problem. Another murderous problem the end sets up is a big new monster, which we hear escape from Samuel’s old basement laboratory, which could be the major villain in Season 2 of October Faction should Netflix decide to renew the show.
