The Iceborne expansion gives players of one of the most popular games of 2018 a brand-new world to explore and new monsters to hunt.
There’s plenty of monster hunting goodness to be had whether you’re new to the franchise or have been taking out beasts since the game’s initial release. If you want to know when you can start exploring Iceborne and how to start playing, here’s everything you need to know.
WHAT TIME CAN YOU PLAY MONSTER HUNTER WORLD: ICEBORNE?
According to its official PlayStation store listing, Monster Hunter: World Iceborne will release on Friday, September 6 at 12 a.m. EDT. This means those on the West Coast will be able to play the expansion on Thursday, September 5 at 9 p.m. PDT.
If you’re looking to play on PC, the expansion won’t be released until January 2020.
HOW TO PLAY MONSTER HUNTER WORLD: ICEBORNE
First and foremost, a copy of the base game, Monster Hunter: World is required to play the expansion.
One of the best games of 2018 is available to purchase or download from the PlayStation Store for just $19.99. If you purchase the base game and the Iceborne expansion ($39.99), its cost amounts to the price of one full game.
The Iceborne expansion is available to pre-order now, which gives players a special Yukumo Layered armor set. This armor set will only change your character’s appearance and does not include any weapons. You’ll have to hunt monsters for yourself to get new weapons.
PlayStation users will also receive a Dynamic Theme based on Velkhana and a Special Theme that can be used immediately after pre-ordering.
