Chelsea match Man Utd’s Lukaku bid

The 18-year-old has attracted interest from the Champions League winners as well as Paris Saint-Germain after an exceptional season with Monaco in which he scored 15 Ligue 1 goals and a further six in the Champions League.

The striker is expected to become the most expensive player in history if a move materialises during the current transfer window, but the Ligue 1 champions are desperate to keep him.

And Ramos understands the hype that surrounds him, hailing the France international as a special talent.

“I saw him in matches that I played against him and those in the Champions League last season,” he told Foot Mercato.

“He is a great player with enormous potential. He is a fast player who unsettles his opponents and has abilities to score goals. He will battle with the best.”

Mbappe is expected to be a big part of his national team’s future, too. After facing Les Bleus in a friendly in March, Spain defender Ramos believes he is one of many stars available to Didier Deschamps.

Verratti sorry for agent’s ‘big mistake’

“It’s a very good squad, very complete with young players who are no longer prospects for the future,” he said.

“They have players who have shown they are very good: Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane, Mbappe. They are the players who make the difference and I think France will be one of the teams to be beat in the next few years.”
