The Crystal Dynamics team announced that when the beta begins in early August, there will be plenty of single-player and team missions to enjoy. There will be more than 20 single and co-op missions in total during the beta, so fans will get a feel of what to expect when the game launches in September.
The first part of the Marvel’s Avengers beta is the story mission. The Golden Gate bridge mission that was shown during E3 2019, which includes 25 minutes of gameplay, will give players an introduction on how each character plays and what traversal will feel like. You’ll also get the Taskmaster boss battle.
When the mission is complete, the beta will open up like the full game does, offering single-player missions and eventually online co-op missions. There will be Hulk- and Kamala Khan-specific Heroic Missions, with players eventually taking on the Hulk villain, Abomination.
Once the single-player story content is complete, players will be able to play as Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk and Kamala Khan. You’ll be able to play as all of the characters in three different types of missions: HARM rooms, War Zones and Drop Zones.
HARM ROOMS
These are virtual training simulators where players can go in solo, with AI teammates or in a team filled with online players. You’ll be faced with wave after wave of increasingly difficult opponents.
There will be three HARM challenge rooms and completing the challenge rooms will give players a name tag that will carry over into the main game when it launches.
BETA WAR ZONES
There will be five beta war zones to play through. You’ll face off against various AIM enemies in teams featuring either AI or online players. Here, you’ll be able to get the first taste of what certain story and heroic missions in the full game will be like.
You’ll traverse through various stages, and have different objectives. This is the perfect place to level up and gain new gear.
BETA DROP ZONES
Drop Zones are missions that can be as short as 10 minutes or as long as two hours. These are designed to let teams drop in and complete a single task. They’re great for getting gear when the main game is released in September.
The Avengers beta will give players a taste of how progression and skill trees work when the full game launches. You’ll get up to three pages of skill levels. You can spend these points to shape how your Avenger plays and what they can do.
And yes, the Hulk Buster shown in the June War Table stream is Iron Man’s ultimate and will be available in the beta.
Those who pre-order the game on PS4, Xbox One and PC will gain access to the beta during the following days:
