The pair starred on Season 15 of Married at First Sight, which aired earlier this year on Lifetime, but are now set to reunite on the upcoming Where Are They Now? special.
On the most recent season of MAFS, five couples from San Diego said, “I do,” upon meeting for the first time, but not all decided to continue their romance when it came to Decision Day.
After their wedding, which was pushed back due to Trinh catching COVID-19, Bell and Trinh suffered several bumps in the road as they adjusted to their new life together, and they ultimately decided to end their marriage.
Despite their breakup, Bell, 27, and Trinh, 29, seem to still be on good terms and are in communication with each other.
In the clip from the Where Are They Now? episode, Bell is seen welcoming Trinh to her Muay Thai center, where the former couple catch up before reuniting with rest of their MAFS co-stars.
Bell is seen chatting to Trinh as she explains to the cameras that she wanted to bring him to her gym because he’s “not much of the fighter type.”
“Maybe this will awaken something in him,” she suggests, as she is seen showing her ex-partner some Muay Thai moves.
Bell’s voiceover then says: “Moving forward, he needs to have a backbone in a relationship. Maybe this will be the beginning of his alpha season.”
During Season 15 of MAFS, Bell, a registered nurse, faced accusations from fans of being too harsh on her then-husband.
She faced major backlash from viewers over her treatment of engineer Trinh, in one episode she threw flowers from him on the ground, though she has since said that only parts of their story were shown on screen.
Elsewhere in the clip for the Where Are They Now? special, Bell says she has been on a few dates since her experience on MAFS and Trinh opens up about his therapy journey.
Bell states that though she has been out a couple of times, she’s “not really in the mindset to date right now. At all.”
Trinh then reveals his therapist got him to write a letter to his father, whom he spoke about on the show, and then burn it, an exercise which he found very helpful.
“I’m not going to let anybody else fill me up or bring me down, I’m just going to be so deep-rooted in my inner peace and self-love that even family isn’t going to affect me,” he tells Bell.
The Married at First Sight—Where Are They Now? special will air Wednesday, November 16, on Lifetime at 8:00 p.m. ET.
