The reality star opened up about the possibility of dating a man in the future. “I’ve been with women and I’m with a woman now,” Pritchard told The Sun on Sunday. “You can never put a label on anything. It’s a cliché to say, but love is blind. I can never ever say what will happen in the future. I wouldn’t rule anything out.”

Pritchard, who is a ballroom dancer, caught speculation from some fans that he was lying about being straight on the dating show, seemingly for his career. Other fans pointed to parts of his behavior as an identifier that he may not be sexually attracted to women.

Twitter conversations showed a handful of Love Island viewers who were convinced Pritchard was lying about his sexuality to be on the TV show.

Pritchard is currently in a relationship with Maura Higgins, who he eventually chose on the show after his relationship with Amy Hart fell through. Pritchard and Higgins have been seen together out of the Love Island house, including on the show’s reunion special with aired Sunday night.

The pair were together about a month on the show and ultimately came in fourth place. While the pair did get close, and both expressed a sexual attraction, they didn’t get too intimate in front of the cameras. Some speculated this was because of Pritchard’s rumored sexual orientation. But Pritchard shared why the intimacy was left for after the show.

“I’m glad we did it away from the cameras, but that’s all I’ll say, as a gentleman never kisses and tells,” he shared. “I never felt pressured to have sex on TV. I didn’t want to show off Maura to the world. I was absolutely fine talking about sex, but actually performing it in front of people was next-level stuff.”

Pritchard also claimed Higgins was on the same page, despite her reputation for being flirtatious and suggestive. “Maura understood that and said we were lucky that I have a strong willpower,” he told The Sun. “At times you did want to let go under the covers, so I had to remind myself that there were cameras on us. It’s human instinct, it’s natural — we’re put on this planet to reproduce, it’s part of us. It was hard not to do it.”
