The Netflix dating show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, released the final episodes of season three on Wednesday, November 9, confirming which of the engaged couples said “I do” at the altar, and which ones, “I don’t.”

This season boasted some of the most dramatic weddings yet, including Zanab Jaffrey’s epic speech while rejecting Cole Barnett, and Nancy Rodriguez’s family getting heated with Bartise Bowden after he said he couldn’t marry her.

But it looks like season four is already gearing up to be just as addictive as its predecessors. Chris Coelen, Love Is Blind creator and founder of production company Kinetic Content, told Newsweek that the new contestants may surprise fans as they are so different to what they have seen before.

When asked if, after three seasons, he is tempted to switch up the show’s format, Coelen said that they don’t need to as it is the people at the heart of experiment who make each season distinctive from the ones that have come before it.

He said: “Sometimes, non-scripted shows, which are more ‘game-ified,’ need to change up the format. I think the thing that makes [Love Is Blind] really compelling is the people. I think the people have such unique stories from season to season and I feel like season one has a very different feel to season two, and season three feels very different from either of those.”

Coelen added: “I think you’ll see that season four is completely different from anything anyone has seen, but not by virtue of, ‘Here’s the trick of the season, or the gimmick of the season.’

“We’re transparent about what the experiment is, and it’s really what the people do with that. That’s what makes the show different season to season.”

Netflix said in March 2022 that Love Is Blind has also been renewed for a fifth season, meaning fans can bank on at least two more installments coming their way.

Coelen also revealed some behind-the-scenes secrets, confirming that the show does pay for the weddings of Love Is Blind contestants.

He told Newsweek that everything is provided for the couples, but said: “If there’s anything over and above what we would normally do, then [the couples] are most certainly welcome to do that.”

Coelen added that the show “really takes into account the input of the couples” and incorporates, where they can, the contestants’ “desires with regard to the decor, the flowers, the food, the music and whatever.”

Love Is Blind seasons 1 to 3 are available to stream on Netflix.
